Writing my new collection
After the success of my debut pamphlet Mutton Rolls I’m working on a new collection
In 2021 I received Arts Council funding to develop my creative practice. This involved a huge research and development process allowing me time and space to create a brand new collection. The book (improvised explosive device) is a retrospective into hate. I wanted to capture the levels of hate that reside in our society and also show how technology has meant that we are accustomed to it in our lives. The research process involved interviews and discussions with many people affected by extremism, from former EDL and National Front members to sociologists dealing with hate crime. It was an amazing process and the book will be brought out through Penned in the Margins in October 2022.
