Create a poem about an old friend

I’ve wanted to share some of the short films that have really moved me over the years. I’ve never had my own dog but I love the way this guy talks about his dog. He captures his love for his dog in such an honest and brilliant way. It has a combination of conversation and narration and it flows like a poem explaining all the reasons why he loved his dog, Oden. Have a watch of it but be warned… it is pretty damn sad.

Consider a pet or person you love and lost.

I want you to imagine you were making a film about your friend. Imagine you were writing the script for it.

What would you say? What moments would you tell us about?

What song would you play? What everyday activity would you want the viewer to see?

Once you have all of those notes, try to carve a piece out of it. If not, just enjoy it as friendship is the most wonderful gift in the world.
